Read Mark 5:15-20:

15 They (people in the town) came to Jesus and saw the man, who had been demon-possessed by the legion, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.  16 The eyewitnesses described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and told about the pigs.  17 Then they began to beg Him to leave their region.  18 As He was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed kept begging Him to be with Him.  19 But He would not let him; instead, He told him, “Go back home to your own people, and report to them how much the Lord has done for you and how He has had mercy on you.”  20 So he went out and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and they were all amazed.

Retell the Passage:

  • Jesus healed a man who was demon-possessed.  According to verse 16, what did the eyewitnesses tell the townspeople?

  • Where did Jesus tell the man to go?  (verse 19)

  • In verse 19, what did Jesus tell him to tell people that he met?

  • According to verse 20, what did this man do?

  • How does verse 20 say his witness was received?

Relate the passages:

  • What do you think the man said to his family?

  • Tell about when someone shared their story about becoming a Christ-follower with you.

  • Who do you know that needs to hear how you experienced God’s forgiveness and how you became a Christ-follower?
